In accordance with Paul Ricard's original recipe, Ricard pastis should be served cold. The best way to enjoy it is to add 5 volumes of chilled water to 1 volume of Ricard and then add the ice cubes last. This ritual will release the full aroma of the anise. Ricard can be more or less diluted according to taste. The unique recipe makes it an ideal ingredient in many cocktails in combination with cordials (strawberry, mint), fruit juices (mango, cranberry), or tonic and a slice of lemon.
