NV Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee Brut, Champagne, France (750ml)

WINEMAKER'S NOTES: 

The wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent-Perrier to craft 'La Cuvée', a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars.

Pale gold in color. Fine bubbles feed a persistent mousse. A delicate nose with hints of fresh citrus and white flowers. The wine’s complexity is expressed in successive notes like vine peach and white fruits notes. A perfect balance between freshness and delicacy with fruity flavors very present on the finish.

This fresh and pure wine is perfect for an apéritif. Its citrus and white fruits notes and its remarkable balance supported by a subtle effervescence, make it an ideal accompaniment to poultry and the finest fish.

Blend: 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier

TASTING NOTES: 

Rich and layered with pie crust and dried apples. Hints of baked bread. Medium-bodied and structured with solid intensity. Lightly chewy with a flavorful finish. Some white pepper and just a hint of energetic bitterness. Reserve wines of 2019 and 2018. 52% chardonnay, 32% pinot noir and 16% pinot meunier.

Evoking aromas of menthol, white fruits, lemon oil and warm biscuits, the NV Brut La Cuvée possesses a medium to full-bodied, round and supple palate with good depth at the core and a charming, fresh, ethereal finish. For this release, the percentage of Chardonnay in this cuvée has been slightly increased, making it a blend of 52% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 13% Pinot Meunier. Based on the 2018 vintage, complemented with 2016 and 2015, it was disgorged with a dosage of nine grams per liter.

The medium yellow NV Champagne La Cuvée Brut opens with notes of fresh pear, white peach, floral lift, and chalky, earthy, powdery pastry dough. Medium-bodied, it has a lovely, approachable profile with a lively mousse. A refreshing, elegant, and clean aperitif to drink now, the base of this wine is 2020, and the blend is 52% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Noir, and the rest Meunier, aged for 48 months. They have a tremendous amount of reserve wine to work with.
