DISTILLER'S NOTES:
Clear tawny in color, with long, slow-moving legs that cling to the glass. A satisfying cork pop sets the stage for a neat pour in a Glencairn glass.
The nose opens with charred oak, ruby port, ripe plums, and well-aged wood, followed by warming clove and dried orange peel. On the palate, oxidized fruit mingles with bitter chocolate and soft caramel, creating a velvety mouthfeel. Ruby and tawny port characteristics are nicely balanced, with gentle sweetness from red grapes and a subtle nuttiness adding depth.
The finish is soft and creamy, with a drying sensation across the tongue. Light cinnamon and the lingering character of oxidized tawny port emerge toward the back of the palate. The flavors begin robustly before gradually fading, leaving a gentle warmth that settles in the chest.
