2024 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy (750ml)

WINEMAKER'S NOTES: 

Il Bruciato 2024 is an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals notes of small red fruit, raspberries and cherries, accompanied by hints of vanilla, tobacco and subtle notes of cotton candy. The palate is balanced and mouth filling: pleasant freshness is accompanied by excellent persistence and closes with a pleasant fruity finish. Il Bruciato remains true to its style and impresses for it’s easyto drink appeal.

TASTING NOTES: 

A fairly bold style for this wine. Rich, complex, bright and focused, showing cassis, plums, wild fennel and a bit of cloves. Medium-bodied and quite supple, it’s full of fruit concentration with firm, grainy tannins, toasty flavors and refreshing acidity. Easy to drink. Drink or hold.

The nose is defined by a powerfully peppery earthiness, but it also brings undertones of mixed wild herbs and crushed rocks. Black cherries and blackberries emerge on the palate, above a foundation of more earth and pepper, while a stream of acid flows over polished but dense tannins.

The 2024 Il Bruciato, a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 8% Syrah, and 7% Petit Verdot, pours a youthful, saturated ruby hue. The nose is expressive and detailed, with aromas of wildflowers, thyme, ripe cherry, and a subtle gamey earthiness. Medium to full-bodied, it shows a rounded, chocolate-tinged texture balanced by refreshing acidity and a finessed, even structure. Despite challenges in the vineyard this season, the results overcame them, and the wine retains good clarity and a savory, umami-tinged depth without excess weight. It’s polished and approachable.

The 2024 Il Bruciato, Guado al Tasso's entry-level wine, is terrific. Crushed red fruits, blood orange, dried herbs and menthol are some of the notes that grace the palate. The 2024 is exceptionally refined and elegant, showcasing lovely understated depth and fine all-around balance.

This red is smooth and packed with black currant, blackberry, violet and earth flavors. Dense and solidly built, with plenty of grip and muscle on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Best from 2027 through 2038.

The entry-level Marchesi Antinori 2024 Bolgheri Rosso Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato, a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 8% Syrah and 7% Petit Verdot, shows ripe, chewy darkness with thick flavors of plummy fruit, blackberry and a savory note reminiscent of tomatoes on the vine. Soft in texture with a medium- to full-bodied mouthfeel, the wine finishes with a gentle dustiness from fully-integrated tannins.
