WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This is a new vineyard designated offering from 100% Hanzell Selection grown in a low land Meadow contiguous to the Santa Rosa Creek. It is dry farmed each year and requires extensive shoot and crop thinning each year due to the extreme fertile conditions. The result is the most fruit forward, with underlining tropical flavors, then any of Walter Hansel Chardonnays.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2023 Chardonnay The Meadows Vineyard has a more focused and spiced feel in the glass, with aromas of green apples, candied lime, white pepper, and caramel. Medium to full-bodied, it boasts a refreshing and even spine of acidity, a balanced, linear feel, and a mouthwatering finish. It’s a highly appealing Chardonnay with the potential to improve over the next couple of years and drink its best over the coming 4-6 years.
