WINEMAKER NOTES:
This Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi’s Mokelumne River appellation pours a deep garnet color and immediately reveals aromas of baking spice and clove, layered with blackberry and cassis. On the palate, flavors of Italian plum, black cherry, currant, and subtle notes of leather and black tea unfold with complexity, supported by pronounced French oak that adds depth and warmth. The wine is fully integrated and well balanced, with firm tannins and a long, lingering finish that showcases its craftsmanship. Its bold yet refined character makes it an excellent partner for robust meals, pairing seamlessly with hearty beef stew, braised leg of lamb, or barbeque beef. It also complements charcuterie boards with aged cheeses, game meats, and pasta in rich red sauces, while offering versatility for more casual pairings like pizza topped with savory ingredients.
TASTING NOTES:
A robust, dark-fruited wine with moderate tannins backing yummy black-cherry and blueberry flavors. Not too heavy or ripe but rather well-balanced. Drink now.
