The Catena wines are a special assemblage of High Mountain Estate Vineyards made by fourth generation vintner, Laura Catena and chief winemaker, Alejandro Vigil. Although we have found that most of the Catena wines are consumed shortly after release, we are pleased to see that they age beautifully for ten to twenty years. Through decades of study and exploration within Mendoza’s high altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its Estate vineyards. From the marriage of these historic vineyards emerges a wine of unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal identity.

White pepper and spices on top of red berries and tamarind. Juicy and medium-bodied on the palate with firm tannins and a linear, medium-long finish.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Catena contains 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot from Uco Valley and Primera Zona. It is deep purple in hue with reserved aromas of red and black fruit, a touch of camphor and balsamic herbs. Dry and broad with active tannins, the 2023 is a crowd-pleaser.

Containing 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully varietal throughout, exuding a red-fruited, herbal and savory profile that is impressively vibrant. It sits high in the mouth with a high-toned, clean energy, concluding with a pleasantly earth-tinged and fine-grained finish.
