WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Intense ruby red, it has strong notes of violet and cherry with hints of sweet spices. On the palate is velvety with round tannins, it has a fresh and persistent finish. Good structure and excellent harmony.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2023 Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico is an outstanding value, delivering far more character and charm than its modest price suggests; medium to dark ruby in color, it offers nifty, appealing aromas of rustic spice, forest floor, and dried leaves; medium-bodied, frisky and bright on the palate, with very light tannins; zesty red fruit flavors carry through to a perky, refreshing finish. Paired with a classic plate of spaghetti Bolognese, the wine’s lively acidity and bright red fruit cut through the richness of the meat sauce, while its earthy nuances echo the dish’s savory depth—creating a beautifully balanced, comforting, and deeply satisfying combination.
