WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
At first swirl, the wine displays aromas of black currant, cranberry, black cherryand boysenberry. Several more minutes reveal hints of damp earth, cedar and dark chocolate. The palate has dark berry flavors along with earthy complexity and savory tones. It finishes with notes of cocoa powder, fine leather and cinnamon. Good acidity will help this wine to age beautifully for years to come.
Blend: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec
TASTING NOTES:
The nose of this blend is savory, almost resinous, with aromas of plum and black cherry mingling with green herbs and earthy spice. The palate is nicely layered, with rich tannin balanced by a ribbon of zesty acidity and flavors of black plum skin, spiced berry compote, crushed herb mélange, and pencil lead lingering on the finish.
