WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
A lovely bouquet of cassis and boysenberry with a touch of violets and olives. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused, and a little chewy, with an excellent core of black fruit, good earthiness, ripe tannins, and a long, complex finish. Produced from 40+ year old vines and very low yields. In 1999, for the love of nature, Daniel Boulle, passionate winegrower, and his wife Hélène gave birth to Domaine Les Aphillanthes. The family farm, located in the south of the Rhône Valley in the commune of Travaillan (Plan de Dieu plateau) on clay-limestone soil.
