TASTING NOTES:
The 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Le Puy Rolland Vieilles Vignes is derived from old vines of Grenache Noir matured for 18 months in foudres. Evoking aromas of spices, flowers and dark wild berries, it has a lively, pure bouquet, followed by a medium to full-bodied, round and sappy, enrobing and charming palate with good depth at the core and a long, tense and deep finish. This chiseled, intensely perfumed Châteauneuf-du-Pape marries tension and density to a pleasing effect. Kudos!

Lastly, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Puy Rolland is all Grenache from a cooler, sandy terroir and was raised all in foudre. It has a pretty, floral, peppery nose as well as a beautiful core of wild strawberry and framboise fruit, medium body, a pure, elegant, seamless mouthfeel, and fine yet building tannins. It's another wine from this estate that's medium-bodied and slightly mid-weight yet shines for its incredible finesse and elegance. It’s going to evolve nicely over the coming decade.
