TASTING NOTES:
A blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Mountain Cuvée No. 5 Saffron Vineyard comes off a single vineyard on Mount Veeder. Slightly light in hue, it offers up hints of strawberries, raspberries and mountain herbs on the nose, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is silky in texture and more about finesse than power on the lingering, rosehip-tinged finish. It's a solid value, so long as you're looking for elegance, not power.

The nose is soft and perfumed, with notes of wild blackberries, mulberries and tomato bush. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, giving notes of blackcurrants, roasted coffee beans and herbs. The finish is short and lean. Drink or hold.

Firm red and black fruits mixed with spices carried by finely corded tannins and a lot of length. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc with verve and plenty of flavor.
