WINEMAKER NOTES:
Overall, the aromatic impression is one of ripe fruits, orange blossom, nutmeg, pan grille, and mocha. Aging for 20 months in French oak barrels, 21% of which were new, rounded the tannins and added to the depth and charm of the wine. Crafted to be enjoyed in its youth, this wine will still age for many years, gaining layers and softening in texture along the way.

TASTING NOTES:
A rich and layered red, showing deep, dark-fruited character with blackberries, dark chocolate and hints of cedar and walnuts. The tannins are smooth and well defined, offering a refined yet powerful structure. Full-bodied, long and intense. Drink from 2028.

The 2022 Quartet Red Wine blends 71% Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville with 16% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 6% Syrah, all from Carneros. With only 19% new French oak, it's barely noticeable on the complex nose, which offers up hints of tobacco, sage and more floral elements alongside notes of cassis and black cherries. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, it's silky and delicious, even if it may fall off just a bit on the finish to reveal a touch of caramel. It's hard to believe this is an "entry-level" wine—it's that good.

The entry-level release under this label, the 2022 Red Wine Quartet is upfront and beautifully fruited, with pure red, blue, and black fruits, some leafy herb and violet notes, medium to full body, and no hard edges. Drink this plump, sexy, forward effort over the coming 7-8 years or more.

The 2022 Red Blend Quartet is a terrific entry-level offering from Arietta. Bright and punchy, the 2022 is hugely delicious. Juicy red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint and spice are nicely pushed forward. The 2022 is very fine. This is the first vintage in which Syrah replaces Petit Verdot as the fourth variety in the blend.
