WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Pale straw-yellow in color with beautiful silver highlights, it has a subtle, refined, and harmonious nose of citrus: bergamot, grapefruit, and tropical fruit: pineapple, with nuances reminiscent of dried aromatic herbs: thyme. The palate has just the right amount of pulp; very fresh acidity, with hints of lime, offers decidedly savory, almost marine sensations; the finish is long, clean, consistent with the aromas already perceived on the nose, so much so that it prompts a rapid retaste.
Pinot Grigio Le Calderare is a ready-to-drink wine, perfect for enjoying immediately and pairing impeccably with light lake fish such as trout, whitefish, and crayfish. It can also age moderately, up to three years; as it becomes more complex, it pairs well with more challenging dishes, such as perch risotto.
