WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Massolino’s Barolo 2021 is a classic and expressive interpretation of Nebbiolo, showcasing the estate’s hallmark balance of structure and elegance. The nose unfolds with bright red cherry, wild berries, and dried rose, layered with hints of licorice, sweet spice, and crushed stone. The palate is vibrant yet refined, offering juicy red fruit, earthy minerality, and firm, finely integrated tannins, all lifted by fresh acidity. A long, polished finish lingers with notes of balsamic, cedar, and subtle floral undertones.
TASTING NOTES:
A beam of pure cherry permeates this juicy red. Supporting flavors of strawberry, rose, graphite and eucalyptus add depth, while vibrant acidity focuses the flavors and drives them through the lingering finish. A great example of the modern style of Barolo. Best from 2028 through 2045. 7,600 cases made, 2,800 cases imported.

The 2021 Barolo is a fabulous wine that shows both the quality of the year and the very high standards at Massolino. Pliant and expressive, with notable depth, the Barolo is super-impressive. Macerated dark cherry, spice, lavender, menthol and blood orange all build in the glass. What a gorgeous and complete wine this is. The straight Barolo is, without question, the hidden gem in this range.
