Winemaker Notes
Kosta Browne sourced from a variety of vineyards within the appellation, including Cerise Vineyard from their Estate series, to create a true representation of an Anderson Valley Pinot Noir blend. To capture this region's rustic beauty and retain freshness, the wine was fermented predominantly in stainless steel, as well as concrete and wood tanks. Intense aromas of juicy blackberries, dark cherry, and charred lemon are enhanced by an expansively layered, concentrated palate. Subtle oak and savory notes weave throughout for a captivating texture that draws the Pinot to a long, powerful finish.
TASTING NOTES:
AROMA - An inviting bouquet of raspberry and cherry, complemented by hints of fennel and a nuanced infusion of cedar.
PALATE - Opulent yet structured, the palate unveils a mesmerizing core of rhubarb and blood orange, supported by soft, chalky tannins that lead to a long-lasting, enthralling finish.
94pts - James Suckling - Luscious aromas of rose petals, cherry cream and toasted oak lead to a rich palate of black cherries, blackcurrants, cinnamon and star anise. A medium body, moderate tannins and good acidity give it plenty of life and lift to complement the lavish spices and fruit.
93pts - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - The 2021 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley, matured for 13 months in 38% new French oak, takes some time to shake off its cedary new oak and reveal red cherry, pipe tobacco and garrigue. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing with concentrated, spicy fruit, and it has a long finish laced with baking spices.
