WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The wine is a dark burgundy, russet-red in color with beautiful depth and richness. The bouquet is soft and alluring with aromas of red currant, raspberry, Bing cherry, and cassis alongside mulled wine holiday spice notes. The palate is plush and inviting with ripe red berries, cherry compote, and raspberry preserves supported by silky, voluminous tannins and a mouthcoating texture that provides a lovely weight, finishing round and sumptuous. Darker tones of blackberry, acai berry, and dark plum, come through on the lengthy finish, while more subtle notes of violet, crushed red rose petal, and black pepper spice (a nod to well integrated oak) accompany the fresh acidity, finishing dry and pleasing. Offering perfect balance, complexity, and elegance, this is a wine with universal appeal that’s sure to pair well with a variety of cuisines.
TASTING NOTES:
A layered and lightly chewy red with currant, orange peel and hints of hazelnut. Fine tannins. Some pine, cedar, graphite, black currant and iodine. Perfumed. Tannins turn fine and bright. Excellent length and serious tension. One of the best I have had. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 15% petit verdot, 11% cabernet franc, 9% malbec and 5% merlot. Drinkable but will age nicely. Best in two or three years.
