WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Deep ruby in color, this Valpolicella Ripasso offers aromas of ripe cherries, dried plums, and blackberries, layered with hints of spice, cocoa, and tobacco from its time in wood. The palate is structured yet smooth, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish rich in dark fruit and earthy undertones.
TASTING NOTES:
Rich, intense and spicy, with black pepper, nutmeg, licorice, chocolate, plums and cherries on the nose. Medium-bodied, it shows velvety tannins and lifted acidity, with a savory, chocolaty finish.

The 2020 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Ca' del Laito has an enticing bouquet that combines sweet sage and lavender with allspice, clove and dried black cherry. It is soothingly round and pliant, with juicy acidity and bright red berry fruit offset by a twang of sour citrus. Long yet incredibly fresh, the 2020 tapers off with rosy inner florals and a hint of nectarine, which I find wildly attractive
