WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The 2019 Coach Insignia is classically styled with rich aromatics of dark ripe cherry and espresso bean. On the palate the wine evolves with flavors of plum skin, cocoa nibs, hints of cassis, sweet tobacco and subtle notes of toasted French oak. This combination creates a beautifully focused yet supple expression of our beloved flagship wine.
92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec
TASTING NOTES:
This wine delivers all the black-fruited density and loamy earth character typical of the 2019 vintage, with robust, integrated tannins and layers of dark chocolate and new cedar wood accents. Framed by zesty blood orange acidity, it carries enticing notes of tobacco and wild sage through an everlasting full-bodied finish. The Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon is a barrel selection of the best lots from the winery’s estate, situated at the foothills of the Palisades mountain range in northern Napa, where vines grow on an alluvial fan that gently slopes westward, following Simmons Creek to the Napa River. The estate’s well-drained soils are remarkably consistent, comprised primarily of cobblestones and loam. This blend includes 1% Malbec.
