WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Prepare to be utterly captivated by the Gattinara DOCG Riserva 2019 from the illustrious Antoniolo winery in Piedmont. This red gem opens with an intense bouquet that interlaces the bold, earthy essence of minerals and iron with the tantalizing sweetness of jam and vanilla. On the palate, it evokes the rugged, ancient terroir of its origins, with a dazzling interplay of flint and savoury spices, rounded out by lush waves of ripe red fruits. Each sip is an ode to refinement and tradition, making it an exceptional choice for connoisseurs seeking depth, complexity, and a lingering, velvety finish. One taste, and you'll understand why this Riserva is more than just a wine—it's a sublime experience that beckons you back, glass after glass.
TASTING NOTES:
The nose is dominated by dried violets, balsamic, earth, clay, strawberries and dried cherries. Full-bodied with ripe, velvety tannins, woven but chewy acidity and super-savory length. Power with grace. Just a bit warming on the finish, yet balanced. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.

The 2019 Gattinara Riserva is a deep, potent, austere wine. Dried cherry, white pepper, chalk, mint, herbs and dried flowers give the 2019 a super-classic profile. Firm, driving tannins reinforce that impression. Even though this is the estate's entry-level Gattinara, it is a wine that needs time. This is not an easygoing offering by any means.

Cherry, rose hip, licorice, mineral and incense aromas and flavors highlight this grippy red. Supple, open and fresh, with a light dusting of tannins on the extended finish. Drink now through 2035. 1,500 cases made, 500 cases imported.
