WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This 2018 Beckstoffer Georges III offers ripe plum and fresh cigar aromas mixed with roasted cherries. Firm tannins provide a silky frame for abundant dark fruit, star anise, and toasted applewood accents.
TASTING NOTES:
Tasted as a pre-bottling tank sample, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is a solid step up over the 2017, offering lots of pure crème de cassis and darker berry fruits intermixed with lead pencil shavings, chocolate, and tobacco leaf-like aromas and flavors. It’s medium to full-bodied and has beautiful depth on the mid-palate, building tannins, and a great, great finish. This impressive, serious wine will need 2-4 years of bottle age and should have two decades of overall longevity. (93-95)

Marked by notes of mint and dusty earth, plus plenty of dark-berried fruit, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is a ripe, rich wine, imbued with ample concentration and weight. Yes, it's full-bodied and tannic but also soft and plush, those smoothly buffed tannins leaving a velvety trail on the palate that lingers easily on the lengthy finish.

Bold and masculine wine with aromas of blackcurrants and blue plums followed by dark chocolate, mocha and a hint of leather. Full-bodied, chewy yet ripe tannins. Showing some development already. Drink now.
