WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
We’ve long believed that Hendry’s classic Zinfandels stand with the best of Napa Valley—and in 2021, Wine Enthusiast made it official. Hendry’s 2021 Blocks 7 & 22 stands at the top, beating Zins that cost twice as much. It’s a Napa Valley classic, and as good as Zin gets, at any price.
Pair with seasoned lamb chops on the grill, beef carpaccio, seared lean steaks, eggplant Parmesan, pasta with a braised meat ragu. As always, balanced and versatile, with just enough pleasant structure to extend its pairing possibilities.
TASTING NOTES:
Full of power and concentration, this is a serious Zinfandel that delivers deeply toned flavors of black fruit, mixed berries, pine and even tree pitch. Distinctive and stimulating, this wine showcases how expressive the variety can be of where it is grown. It smells of Napa Valley in early Autumn. An intriguing pleasure.
