WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino might be considered Brunello's younger sibling. Made from 100% select Sangiovese clones, Rosso di Montalcino offers rich, forward fruit flavors in a well-structured wine with supple tannins and good acidity for dining.
TASTING NOTES:
The nose is headlined by black cherry, candied orange peel and dark chocolate, with undertones of crushed rock and top soil for depth. The palate is laden with cherries, plums and citrus which is brighter, but also more bitter, in contrast to a richer chocolate note that stretches over polished, structured tannins.
