WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Made from estate vines averaging 50 years old. Monastrell’s bold fruit is perfectly in balance with the earthy notes of Cabernet and Syrah, producing a wine that shows complexity and balance. Each varietal is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels separately before blending. Vibrant ripe wild cherry and summer berries, rich in flavor and texture with fresh acidity and finessed tannin structure. Flavors of chocolate and spices pair nicely with ripe red and black fruit.
Blend: 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Monastrell, 10% Syrah
Vegan-Friendly
TASTING NOTES:
Like with the other 2021s, I found the 2021 Juan Gil Red Blend more harmonious, elegant and integrated. It feels a bit young and the palate is still a bit aggressive. It should get polished with some more time in bottle.
