Continue ShoppingDuring the summer months, temperatures can become too hot to ship wine safely. So, we've outlined our warm weather policy below so that you know your options, risks, and obligations:
During this time of extreme warm weather, we are offering the following options after you place your order. All options include cool packs at no additional charge:
If we feel your delivery area is too hot we will default to holding your order until weather permits, or until we hear from you otherwise.
PLEASE NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT: We highly recommend either holding your order for cooler weather or upgrading to express shipping. Although the cool packs provide some protection, proceeding with ground shipping during times we've deemed it too hot to ship safely is not an option we recommend, even with cool packs. Because we do not consider this to be a preferred method, if you choose to go ahead and ship via FedEx Ground during a time we've deemed it too hot to ship safely, we will not be responsible for any heat damage that may occur. Any wine that is heat damaged due to our decision to ship, we will of course take responsibility for.
Please also keep in mind that an adult signature is required upon delivery. We cannot be responsible for heat damage that occurs due to missed deliveries.
We will continue to hold your order in our climate controlled warehouse until either we hear from you or until we've deemed it safe to ship.
2019 Arnaldo Rivera 'Undicicomuni', Barolo DOCG, Italy (750ml)
TASTING NOTES:
Expressive, this boasts pure cherry, strawberry, rose and anise flavors. Elegant, turning more structured as this winds down on the vibrant finish. Gains complexity from tar and wild herb details. Best from 2026 through 2043

As its name suggests, the Arnaldo Rivera 2019 Barolo Undicicomuni is a blend of Nebbiolo from many of the 11 villages that make up the appellation. This is a co-op winery that enjoys incredible access to vineyard sites, and no other winery could manage a blend this ambitious. With 50,000 bottles made (and sold at a good value price), the wine offers classic varietal tones of wild berry, dark fruit, violet, tar and licorice. The tannins are already quite integrated, and this Barolo boasts an accessible side. It will be released this fall. The oak regime is reduced to 26 months (instead of 32 months) in the case of this wine, and you get more easy fruit as a result.
