WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The wines of Château Petit-Village are fresh and balanced with remarkable intensity of fruit and all the incomparable richness and finesse of the greatest wines of Pomerol.
Blend: 60% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon.
TASTING NOTES:
A creamy and velvety-textured red with chocolate, berry and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with a nice fruit and soft tannin balance. Very long. Give this four to five years to come together. 60% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 8% cabernet sauvignon. Best after 2027.

A powerful and dense wine, this shows concentration. A good amount of the two Cabernets brings structure behind the great black fruits. It is a wine for aging. Drink from 2026.

The 2020 Petit Village was much talked about on the place de Bordeaux, so I was curious to taste it. On first encounter last summer, it appeared to be rather chunky and extracted, but while waiting for the delivery of a new novelty shape bottle, the wine was obliged to spend a prolonged period in tank, and it seems to have acquired some additional polish and integration in the process. Exhibiting aromas of minty blackberries, cassis, spices and creamy new oak, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with a creamy, textural profile and good depth at the core. This is still a big-boned vision of Pomerol, but it has turned out better than I anticipated last summer. 93+

Sleek and well worked, tannins make the immediate impression. The texture and frame more dominant than the fruit at this point, but I like the quiet seduction of the powdery texture and the dark, perfumed blackcurrant underneath. Smoke, toasty, heat and some green pepper Cabernet flavour stops the fruit short though this is quite suave with powdery, prominent tannins. Classic Pomerol, rich in wood, creamy and will age well.

The 2020 Le Petit Petit-Village is 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc that's from the more gravelly soils as well as younger vines on the property. It has a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a solid bouquet of ripe red and black cherries, leafy herbs, damp earth, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, nicely textured, and balanced on the palate, this herbal, complex, charming

Delivers warmed plum sauce and fig paste notes mixed with melted black licorice, all set against a Black Forest cake background. The fleshy finish has a tug of earth to keep it just honest enough. For fans of the style. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
