WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The emblematic cuvée of Château de la Font du Loup, a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault, will highlight a floral side and a great freshness thanks to a soil composed mainly of sand located on a very cold terroir at the top of the Crau, an altitude that exceeds 120 meters.
TASTING NOTES:
Loads of sweet strawberries, rose petals, crushed stone, and sappy garrigue notes emerge from the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a wonderfully pure, medium-bodied 2022 that has a vibrant, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a beautiful sense of freshness. This is never the biggest or richest wine in the vintage, yet it shines for its wonderful balance and elegance. It should drink nicely for 10-12 years. The blend is 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah, and 5% Cinsault that’s all from the cooler, sandy Font du Loup lieu-dit, and it was destemmed and brought up in a mix of foudre, old barrels, and tank. 2,500 cases.

A blend of 60% Grenache Noir, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault planted on safre soils in lieu-dit La Font du Loup, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape possesses an elegant, fresh bouquet of wild strawberries, peony, dark cherries and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, enrobing and charming, it's supple with a juicy core of fruit, tense, fine-grained tannins and a long, ethereal and lively finish. Matured for 18 months in foudres (10%), large barrels (10%), used barrels (10%), stainless steel (20%) and concrete tanks (50%), this is a real success at this address.
