WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections. The ethereal nose opens with focused cherry and strawberry, rose petal, and hints of spice. Elegant and fresh on the palate with notes of bright red fruit, firm tannins, and a long finish.
TASTING NOTES:
Bright and fresh with sliced berries, peaches and citrus. Cranberries, too. Roses. Medium body. Firm and silky tannins and a bright and vivid finish. Best after 2026.

The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2020 Barolo is a little shy or closed on first inspection. It shows dark fruit and spice with earthy root and licorice but ultimately lacks all of the fine detailing that you expect of Nebbiolo. This is a blend of fruit from Monforte d'Alba, Novello and a small part from La Morra.

The 2020 Barolo is a classy, mid-weight wine. Dried herbs, leather, tobacco, incense, crushed flowers and dried fruit are all laced together in an understated, nuanced Barolo that is loaded with character and complexity.
