100% Nebbiolo from the single vineyard 'Le Castelle,' located near Gattinara's emblematic medieval tower. Aged in French oak barrique for 30 months followed by one year in bottle prior to release.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2020 Gattinara Riserva Le Castelle is laced with dark macerated cherry, spice, leather, menthol and espresso. A touch of French oak softens the contours while adding attractive top notes of sweet spice. This racy Gattinara is quite appealing. The Castelle remains something of a stylistic outlier in this range, but its overall quality and pure charm can’t be denied.
