WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
From a benchmark, traditional producer in Alto Piemonte, the 2020 Antoniolo Gattinara Riserva is a stunning, single-commune expression of Nebbiolo. The nose is intensely aromatic and pure, with notes of sour cherry, dried rose petal, and blood orange, layered with savory hints of iron, crushed volcanic rock, and licorice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, taut, and energetic, with a core of pristine red fruit framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and the region's signature high, persistent acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, savory, and intensely mineral. A classic, cellar-worthy Riserva that demands time to fully unfold.
