WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Deeply aromatic with layers of boysenberry, plum, iron and earth; the palate is demarcated by a firm, suede-like, tannin structure. In the glass it exudes density and ripeness; overflowing with sweet berry, plum, chocolate, and vanilla notes. The well-integrated oak and bright acidity, a signature of the malbec in the blend, promise a great future for this wine with cellaring.
TASTING NOTES:
This is Daniel Brennan's most serious Malbec offering. Hailing from a certified organic site that's picked as late as early May, it is a blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot. A midweight style, there's flesh yet it remains elegant. There's no denying this is a structured wine that will reward cellaring: the abundant, stony tannins offer the mouth the equivalent of a bear hug. Expect a lengthy, rich finish filled with Christmas spices, dark chocolate, black cherry and licorice.
