WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Dark and inviting, our Cabernet Sauvignon opens with dense, savory aromas of cassis, graphite, and espresso, deepened by olive, bay leaf, and a subtle thread of violet and sweet tobacco. Fresh on the entry, the palate is taut and muscular, with blackberry, dark plum, and mocha building through a silky, well-proportioned frame. Crushed granite and savory herbs lend precision and minerality through to the long, structured finish. Drink now with pleasure or cellar with confidence for a decade or more.
TASTING NOTES:
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 2% Petite Verdot, 3% Malbec. Most of the fruit is sourced from the Rutherford AVA, with over half of that from the winery's estate vineyards. Aged 18 months in 55% new French oak. Quite a wonderfully bold, dark-fruited Cabernet, with espresso bean nuances, scorched earth and expensive toasty oak with a muscular structure, with powerful tannins, infused with an unsweetened cocoa powder character, and elegant tobacco spices, giving them a savoury character that also has a kind of freshness factor from ripeness and an iron-like mineral presence. Super polished with great length.
