WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Every year, technical and cultural improvements are made in order to offer a superior quality in each vintage. In 2015, we have further reduced the volume of the harvest (through green harvesting and a stricter selection of berries) in order to gain in precision and quality. Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of the famed Pierre Lurton, managing director for Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem! Grandson and son of a winegrower, he has at heart to enhance the value of a terroir from which he originates and which he still lives in today, that of the Entre-deux-Mers.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2021 Marjosse is a racy, pungent wine loaded with aromatic intensity. Black cherry, plum, sage, mint, dried herbs and tobacco all take shape in this mid-weight red from Pierre Lurton. There's terrific energy, tension and class. The blend is 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec, which is today less Merlot and more Cabernets than in the past. I tasted the 2021 next to the 2020, 2019 and 2018, and it held up just fine.
