WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Domaine Dujac's 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, Les Folatières, showcases the quintessential expression of Chardonnay from one of Burgundy's most revered white wine appellations. This Premier Cru vineyard in the Côte de Beaune boasts prime east-facing exposure and distinctive rocky, marly limestone soils, imbuing the wine with a profound sense of place. Domaine Dujac is celebrated for its precise, non-interventionist winemaking and sustainable viticulture, allowing the unique character of each site to shine. The warm 2023 growing season yielded a generous and ripe crop, and Dujac's focus on balance and freshness ensures this vintage offers charming fruit and good acidity, akin to successful years like 2017 and 2022. This wine beautifully marries the opulence of the vintage with the finesse of its distinguished terroir and producer's craft.
TASTING NOTES:
The Dujac harvest began with the 2023 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières on September 1. Offering up aromas of white peach, hazelnuts, freshly baked bread and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and satiny, with an elegantly layered core and a fine-boned, giving profile.
