WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
With purity and power, balance and structure, Flavio’s Brunelli are definitely built for the long haul. Intense bouquets of blackberry and blueberry, with hints of chocolate, tobacco and balsamic. Harmonious and elegant with powerful tannins. Pair with red meat, game and cheese.
Production ranges from 30,000 bottles to 60,000, depending on vintage; he’s able to produce more Brunello (and less Rosso) in great vintages since his fruit is of higher overall quality. This means that in more difficult vintages, less Brunello is produced but of still very good quality.
TASTING NOTES:
An under-the radar-estate, La Palazzetta’s star has been rising steadily over the last handful of vintages, with 2021 another solid showing. Fourth-generation Luca Fanti managed to harness the warmth of the year with equal measures of power, ripeness and finesse. Captivating scents are redolent of cinnamon, mint and flinty stone. Iron and cloves punctuate the dark berry core, and firm, sculpted tannins lend marvellous definition. Punchy without being brawny, it lingers with savoury intensity.

Intense, floral style with aromas of violets, roses and ripe black cherries. Medium-bodied, it shows a supple palate with chalky tannins and a tight, fruity finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Try from 2028.
