Concha Y Toro produces their Serie Riberas wines from vineyards influenced by their proximity to nearby rivers. In this case, the Ucúquer vineyard sits atop a gorge near the mouth of the Rapel River. This cooling influence in what was otherwise a hot vintage elsewhere in Chile produced a racy and minerally wine. Citrus and stone fruit are kept in check with welcome herbal tones before a piercing brightness and chalky mineral drive the finish. The concentration is deceptive because it's so inviting to take another sip.
