WINEMAKER'S NOTES: 

2022 tells a story of subtle drama of the seasons. Aromatically effusive, 2022 Continuum is a seductive wine with an upright and regal core. Elegantly interwoven notes of black plum, black cherry, cacao, forest floor and tobacco leaf mingle with our sage mountain garrigue and volcanic minerality. Energetic and expressive, 2022 Continuum is a harmoniously integrated wine with structural complexity wrapped in a velvet robe.

Blend: 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot

TASTING NOTES: 

Perfumed aromas of subtle currants, roses, lavender and sage, following through to a medium body with super-fine tannins that caress the palate and leave it fresh and inspired. A gorgeous and graceful 2022. Drinkable now, but better in 2028.

An intensely expressive nose of rich mulberry and raspberry fruit, lifted by fragrant sagebrush, blue agave, and delicate violet florals. Cocoa-powder tannins frame the medium to full-bodied palate, where the fruit is deeply concentrated yet remarkably weightless. This is a beautifully constructed wine, crafted with precision yet driven by an emotional resonance that lingers with each sip. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, and 4% Merlot, aged for 21 months on the lees in 58% new French oak and 3% in concrete amphora. Sourced from Continuum’s Sage Mountain Vineyard on Pritchard Hill, comprising 42 distinct vineyard blocks planted between 400 and 490 metres in elevation. The views are breathtaking, but the wine is genuinely extraordinary.

Continuum's 2022 Proprietary Red is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot, aged 21 months in 58% new French oak. Attention-grabbing cherries lead the way, although there are darker undertones of plum and black olive, plus hints of dried sage, menthol and tobacco. It's medium- to full-bodied and silky in feel, and the tannins are smooth and harmonious but present, lingering easily on the lengthy finish.

The 2022 Continuum Sage Mountain Vineyard is a vivid, impressive wine. Super-ripe black cherry, mocha, espresso and cloves stain the palate. This is an especially exuberant, flamboyant vintage for Continuum. It's a superb effort for the year.

A generous burst of blackberry and mulberry fruit leads the way but is quickly caught from behind by cast iron, dried sage and singed mesquite notes. The fruit keeps pace with the grippy back end, and there’s solid energy. Well-done. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot.
