WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The ethereal nose opens with focused cherry and strawberry, rose petal, and hints of spice. Elegant and fresh on the palate with notes of bright red fruit, firm tannins, and a long finish.
TASTING NOTES:
Pouring a youthful red color, the 2021 Barolo is not shining as brightly at this tasting and has more muted notes of mushroomy earth, worn leather, raspberries, and thyme. The palate is elegant and finessed with notes of apricot floral tones coming through, and it has ripe tannins and an elegant feel floating through the finish. The palate suggests there’s more to this wine, and it would be great to taste this again if possible. Rating: 91+

This Barolo is like your favorite indie rock playlist, complex yet approachable. Think sun-warmed cherries having a party with wild herbs and forest floor vibes, while silky tannins slide in like a smooth bass line. It's old-school Barolo for the modern ear, showing why this hilltop spot has been dropping hits since 1897. Drink Now - 2040.

The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2021 Barolo shows a simple bouquet with dried fruit and herb. The fruit is slightly faded and not as vibrant in this blend that is mostly from Monforte d'Alba and Novello, with a small part from La Morra. It offers a savory or earthy quality with polished tannins for drinking over the near term.
