WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Deep and dense with glossy blackberries, tar, black chocolate, wet stones, seaweed and savory spices. On entry, there's a very pronounced saline character to the fruit, which is then framed by dense, polished tannins on the full-bodied palate. Blend: 96% Malbec, 4% Semillon.
TASTING NOTES:
From La Consulta, Uco Valley, the 2019 Malbec Gran Reserve was fermented and aged for 24 months in Mercury barrels. An intense purple hue. The aromas feature ripe plum, cedar and gentle cherry notes along with hints of violet, plum and mint as part of a delicate, nuanced profile. The quality of the grape and nature of the aging process have dialed up the intricacy, resulting in a refined texture and juicy flow before the prolix finish. This is a wine of sustained, subtle flavor and depth.
