WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The confluence of elements that shape a vineyard ultimately shape the character of its wines. Nowhere is this more evident than the iconic Eolo Vineyard in Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo region, where some of Argentina’s oldest Malbec vines were planted more than a century ago. Today, Eolo Malbec is the pinnacle of Bodega Trivento’s offerings, handcrafted from a single block of vines grown on original rootstock to create an extraordinary expression of its treasured namesake origin.
TASTING NOTES:
Deep, tarry blackberries and blueberries with hints of iodine, oyster shell, violet and dark minerals. A nice touch of cocoa powder and a hint of cream. Plenty of dusty tannins on the full-bodied palate. Long and creamy. Restrained opulence here. Harvested in the first week of March. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Malbec Eolo is sourced from a 100-year-old vineyard planted on the riverbank in Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo. Aged for 18 months in equal parts French oak barrels (new and used) and foudres, this purple-red wine unfolds ripe fruit aromas of plums and quince marmalade along with hints of bay leaf and menthol hints against a cedar backdrop. Dry, rich and fairly crispy due to a harvest decision in a warm vintage, this Malbec is mild and juicy with a lasting, flavorful finish. A calibrated red made with precision in a difficult year, the 2020 is a perfect example of what old vines can provide.
