Continue ShoppingDuring the summer months, temperatures can become too hot to ship wine safely. So, we've outlined our warm weather policy below so that you know your options, risks, and obligations:
During this time of extreme warm weather, we are offering the following options after you place your order. All options include cool packs at no additional charge:
If we feel your delivery area is too hot we will default to holding your order until weather permits, or until we hear from you otherwise.
PLEASE NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT: We highly recommend either holding your order for cooler weather or upgrading to express shipping. Although the cool packs provide some protection, proceeding with ground shipping during times we've deemed it too hot to ship safely is not an option we recommend, even with cool packs. Because we do not consider this to be a preferred method, if you choose to go ahead and ship via FedEx Ground during a time we've deemed it too hot to ship safely, we will not be responsible for any heat damage that may occur. Any wine that is heat damaged due to our decision to ship, we will of course take responsibility for.
Please also keep in mind that an adult signature is required upon delivery. We cannot be responsible for heat damage that occurs due to missed deliveries.
We will continue to hold your order in our climate controlled warehouse until either we hear from you or until we've deemed it safe to ship.
2023 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe 'Telegramme' Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone, France (750ml)
WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe is known for its consistent production of high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Southern Rhone. Chateauneuf du Pape wines typically exhibit rich and complex flavors with a balance of fruit, earth, and spice, and the 2023 vintage is anticipated to continue this tradition. The wine's color is a deep red, indicative of the robust character often expected from this region.
TASTING NOTES:
Impressive fragrance and freshness are married to deep mulberries and ripe strawberries, and all this is wrapped around an ample tannin structure on the medium-bodied palate. Plenty of drive at the long, quite compact finish.
- James Suckling, 95 pts.
A seductive version, with full ripeness yet balanced restraint to the round, warm notes of red licorice and cherry, flecked with lavender and vanilla bean. A stream of graphite matches the ripeness, making for a perfumed, incense-driven, tangy finish, with dried herbs, turmeric and earth. Lovely. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault.
- Wine Spectator, 93 pts.
The spicy and red-fruited 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme is shaping up to become yet another rock-solid red Châteauneuf from the talented Brunier family. Anchored by polished tannins, the fruit-driven and expressive 2023 checks out with a refreshing finish.
- Vinous, 92 pts.
Based on 80% Grenache with smaller amounts of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault and aged 15-16 months in French oak foudres, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Télégramme offers ripe black cherries, minty herbs, flowers, and pepper. It's medium-bodied and has a charming, juicy, elegant mouthfeel with soft, integrated tannins and outstanding length.
