Continue ShoppingDuring the summer months, temperatures can become too hot to ship wine safely. So, we've outlined our warm weather policy below so that you know your options, risks, and obligations:
During this time of extreme warm weather, we are offering the following options after you place your order. All options include cool packs at no additional charge:
If we feel your delivery area is too hot we will default to holding your order until weather permits, or until we hear from you otherwise.
PLEASE NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT: We highly recommend either holding your order for cooler weather or upgrading to express shipping. Although the cool packs provide some protection, proceeding with ground shipping during times we've deemed it too hot to ship safely is not an option we recommend, even with cool packs. Because we do not consider this to be a preferred method, if you choose to go ahead and ship via FedEx Ground during a time we've deemed it too hot to ship safely, we will not be responsible for any heat damage that may occur. Any wine that is heat damaged due to our decision to ship, we will of course take responsibility for.
Please also keep in mind that an adult signature is required upon delivery. We cannot be responsible for heat damage that occurs due to missed deliveries.
We will continue to hold your order in our climate controlled warehouse until either we hear from you or until we've deemed it safe to ship.
2020 Agricola Gianpiero Marrone Bussia Barolo DOCG, Italy (750ml)
WINEMAKER NOTES:
In the sign of love for their land and respect for traditions, the Barolo “Bussia” 2015 of the Marrone family favors the natural development of the vintage, with characteristic sweet tannins that will guarantee a structured, elegant and long lasting wine. Barolo with complex and intriguing aromas, of great charisma and never taken for granted, oral and with spicy notes on the finish, the palate shows itself full and immediately round.
TASTING NOTES:
he Bussia cru is one of the largest in the appellation, and it overlaps between the comuni of Barolo and Monforte d'Alba. Gian Piero Marrone's 2015 Barolo Bussia shows pronounced, savory aromas of spice, leather and tar. There is dark fruit in there as well, with ample layers of plum, prune and blackberry. The wine offers a thin, mid-weight approach, but its bits and pieces are all in the right place. This is a near-term Barolo to drink within the next 10 years alongside delicate crackers and a liver pâté.
