WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The 2020 vintage is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. The first vintage to say "Cabernet Sauvignon" on the label, it maintains the excitement and complexity of the previous offerings, with the Cabernet Franc striking a chord of richness, depth, and spice. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings a core of black fruits, cassis, structure and power. Overlaid are many layers aromatic and textural complexity—Asian spice, licorice, and dried white flowers. Sourced from our favorite vineyards in both Coombsville and Oakville, aged for sixteen months in French oak barrels, and bottled without fining and filtration, it is a fantastic introduction to Favia's style of wine.
Blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
TASTING NOTES:
Lots of blackberry and black olive-skin aromas with some purple fruit. Lead pencil, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with chewy tannins at the back of the palate. Juicy and savory.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is the successor to the 2019 Red Wine but contains just over 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance a mix of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Aged in about one-third new French oak, it comes across as slightly less herbal than the 2019, with attractive shadings of cherries and mocha on the nose. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied and supple, perhaps a bit coarser in feel than the 2019, but it's open and generous. Drink it over the next several years.
