WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This Rioja Tempranillo is a testament to the quality of the grapes of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, the 2 northernmost sub-regions of Rioja, where Tempranillo thrives in the high altitudes (1,300 – 2,600 feet) at the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria. Aged in new French oak barrels for 10 months, this wine shows vibrant aromas of ripe berries, plum and red currant, balanced by the earthy notes of incense, black licorice, tobacco and toasty oak. Balanced, supple and textured tannins. There is density, bright acidity, integrated tannins and a long, spicy finish.
Blend: 100% Tempranillo
TASTING NOTES:
Deep violet. Oak-spiced red and blue fruits, candied rose, vanilla and a hint of woodsmoke on the nose. Lively cherry and mulberry flavors deepen and spread out slowly through the midpalate. Dusty tannins provide grip to a long, focused finish that leaves a suggestion of cherry cola behind.
