TASTING NOTE:
A selection of the best barrels results in the wine called Clew. This is a big, powerful wine, particularly the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Clew, which comes from Coombsville. One hundred-seventy cases were made of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in 100% French oak, this is no wimpy wine at 15.5% alcohol. It is super-concentrated, with a stunning nose of graphite, licorice and forest floor followed by off-the-charts richness, a skyscraper-like texture, and massive blueberry and blackberry fruit in addition to some loamy soil undertones. This stunner is still incredibly youthful and primary but promises to evolve and be drinkable in 5-7 years and last three decades or more.

WINEMAKER'S NOTE:
The Ballerina Visually this wine is the deepest purple almost blue/black. Black forest fruits emanate from the glass, with hints of blueberry, vanilla, violet, graphite and peppery spice. Then comes plum pudding, incense and the slightest hint of earthy truffles. All leading into a palate of rich blackcurrants and cassis and silky luxuriant chocolate. A smooth, structured and elegant wine with a long seductive finish. Drink now or enjoy for the next 15+ years.
